We are excited to introduce changes to this year’s courses – including a brand-new route for our 5K runners!
A previously unavailable path is now open, allowing us to enhance the half marathon course, particularly in its early stages. With a growing number of participants this year, this improvement is especially welcome. It enables us to reroute the first 2 kilometres, preventing a section where runners would have passed each other in both directions at an early stage.

Beyond this adjustment, the course remains unchanged, taking you on a scenic journey through Northstowe, past historical landmarks in neighbouring Longstanton, across the new footbridge, and out into the surrounding countryside towards Oakington before returning the same way to the finish line at Northstowe Education Campus. You’ll be surprised by the variety along the way – boredom is not an option!
Important note: We do not share .gpx files because the section between 10.5 km and 12 km crosses private land that we have permission to use only on race day. To ensure continued access for future events, please respect the signs and avoid trespassing when planning a recce of the course. Thank you for your understanding and support!
A brand new course for the 5k runners!
For the first time, 5K participants will complete a loop around all three lakes! The course follows the half marathon route around Halcyon Lake and Unity Lake, with a shorter loop around Bug Hunter Waters, before returning to the finish line at the Northstowe Education Campus.

Organising a race in ever-evolving Northstowe is no small task, and we couldn’t do it without the incredible support of Local Authorities and all landowners. A huge thank you to Northstowe Town Council, Cambridgeshire County Council, South Cambridgeshire District Council, Northstowe Education Campus, Homes England, Anglian Water, Urban & Civic, Greenbelt Group, and private landowners; your continued support and willingness to go above and beyond makes this event possible.
We can’t wait to see you at the start line!
