Pay What You Can UPDATE
We’re always looking for ways to make our events more inclusive. Back in December, we launched Pay What You Can – a trial initiative to reduce financial barriers to participation in our running events. The idea was simple: runners could pay only what they could afford, ensuring that cost wasn’t a reason to miss out. We hoped this would be balanced by those who could contributing a little extra, making the initiative sustainable and allowing us to roll it out permanently across all our events.
So far, we’ve had over 25 Pay What You Can race entries—including a couple of generous overpayments! We’re thrilled to welcome new runners to Northstowe and see this initiative making a difference. However, we realized that most participants choose the standard entry option and may not be aware of this initiative. To help, we recently added an optional donation feature to our regular sign-up form.
In just one week, five generous runners have already donated to support Pay What You Can entries! Every contribution—big or small—helps more people experience the joy, challenge, and accomplishment of race day.
