Event organisers successfully applied and have been granted permission by the Cambridgeshire County Council ( Ref: EVENTS/2025/68) and relevant landowners to place Stop/Go boards upon the public highway between 09:30 and 13:30 on Sunday, 27th April to facilitate the safe holding of the traffic management for the Northstowe Half Marathon and Red Balloon 5K.

Between 09.30 and 13.30, to provide a safe passage for runners, the traffic will be stopped (except for blue lights) at the following road crossings while runners are crossing the road:

  • Stirling Road (adjacent to Villa Road)
  • Wellington Road (adjacent to Vole Close)
  • Rampton Road (adjacent to Magdalene Close)
  • St. Michaels Road (adjacent to Wilson’s Road)
  • Northstowe Road (crossing with Longstanton Rd bridleway)

Stirling Road and Wellington Road crossings will be particularly busy between 09.30 and 11.00. Please use alternative routes to avoid delays (see maps below).

The following residential roads: St Michaels Lane, St Michaels, Wilson’s Road, The Drift and Longstanton Road will remain open to traffic. Please be aware of runners on the side of the road.

Please refer to the route map below

We apologise for any inconvenience, and thank you for supporting the Northstowe Half Marathon and Red Balloon 5K.
